Platform admins can access your DMs, take control of your account, post from it, change your username, take it for themselves, or even hand it off to someone else. That’s the reality of trusting centralized platforms.
People need to understand their relationship with social media companies. If you’re not paying, you’re not the customer, you’re the product. And honestly, even paying doesn’t always change that.
Privacy minded users usually take extra steps: VPNs, privacy focused browsers, aggressive ad blockers, and even automation tools that post while they’re offline. They avoid built in scheduled posts because those are often visibly labeled as scheduled.
The point is simple: don’t confuse having an account with having control.
