NewRock Prep (Men) lost to Emory-Oxford College, 76-74, in a game featuring 15 lead changes on Saturday.
Trailing 13-9, Emory-Oxford College went on an 8-point run to take the lead.
Marcus Calhoun poured in 17 points in the second half as NewRock Prep (Men) outscored Emory-Oxford College 47-44.
Calhoun and Jaylon Johnson each scored 19 points to lead NewRock Prep (Men). Calhoun and Johnson each hit multiple three-pointers for NewRock Prep (Men). The team shot 7-20 (35%) from beyond the arc. NewRock Prep (Men) passed the ball well with 24 assists on 31 made baskets. Johnson led the team with 11 assists. NewRock Prep (Men)’s ball pressure forced 15 steals in the game. Johnson led the team with four steals. Daniel Stephon pounded the glass, collecting nine rebounds to lead NewRock Prep (Men). Also contributing for NewRock Prep (Men) were Jayden Tolbert (13 points), Frederick Tripp (9 points), Stephon (6 points), Josiah Thomas (4 points), Ian Ash (2 points), and Talith Gregory (2 points).
Emory-Oxford College’s 21-35 shooting on twos was a key factor in the game.
