@Elgin_Tomfooler@Geoseph_Usher@robggill Wouldn’t you just say that’s because you’re sensitive to the term? Doesn’t really change geography.
Prettanic Isles is the Greek name for the British isles, the P became a B when the romans came.
@Elgin_Tomfooler@Geoseph_Usher@robggill I didn’t say they had seperate names individually, I said they referenced their geographical locations the same, the Pretannic Isles.
@Elgin_Tomfooler@Geoseph_Usher@robggill It says the source right there.
The British isles is nothing to do with possession 😂 it’s to do with the collection of islands and the name given to the archipelago by the Greeks and romans, or do you think they distinguished Ireland from Great Britain?
@Hugh_might@anne_hegerty@robggill Don’t they teach you the difference between Geography and History in Ireland?
It’s not a political reference, it’s a geographical one, like I said in the original post.
@Elgin_Tomfooler@Geoseph_Usher@robggill I’m aware of our history, it doesn’t change the fact it’s a geographical term for the Archipelago, that includes us all.
@Hugh_might@anne_hegerty@robggill What reputation? Everyone on the planet bar Ireland and us when we are pandering to you call it the British Isles, because it’s a British Island, sensitive bunch.
@Hugh_might@anne_hegerty@robggill Who knew the Irish were so thin skinned? I thought you had a reputation for ‘the craic!’
I understand why you don’t like the term but it doesn’t change the fact thd geographical location of Ireland is in the British Isles.
@WolfJockey99@robggill It’s been known as the British isles for 2000+ years from Ancient Greek and Roman times, it’s not political you’re just attempting to make it political.
