🇵🇸 PALESTINIAN FLAG RAISED OVER EAST HAM TOWN HALL FOR FIRST TIME

The Palestinian flag has been raised over East Ham Town Hall in Newham for the first time following a year-long campaign by local Palestine activists.

The Newham Palestine Solidarity Network described the occasion as a “deeply proud and emotional moment” and said the flag flying above the Town Hall would “carry deep meaning for many people across Newham — particularly Palestinian residents and all those who have stood alongside them for years.”

The group began campaigning for the flag to be raised in October 2025, arguing that if Newham could demonstrate solidarity by flying the Ukrainian flag for more than two years, “Palestine should not be treated differently.”

It said months of “conversations, lobbying, persistence and political pressure” had finally brought about the result.

“Campaigning works. Persistence matters. Political pressure can bring about change,” the group said.

“So today, we are proud to see a campaign we began back in October 2025 become a reality.

“This is about justice. This is about dignity. And this is about standing for peace.”

The Palestinian flag was raised on Tuesday by Newham Mayor Forhad Hussain.

Just so you know, under current UK law, ZERO under 5's were married or forced into a marriage in the United Kingdom.

The government explicitly warns that cases involving young children often concern a promise/betrothal of a future marriage, or a sibling being at risk - not an actual marriage of that young child.
