@TheRocsWorld Ohh, in one fairly recent Twitter conversation, I was accused of being both privileged and oppressed because I have a 40 hour a week 'hamster in a factory' job, that, along with my partner's even higher paying job, is sufficient for our financial needs.
@DrProudman @SarahLeanne71 The men in these comments are horrible and just proving the OP's point, if the shoe doesn't fit, walk away, when you argue "not all men," you're one of those dangerous men. As for the women in these comments, defending men, you probably turn your head away to abuse. Smh.
@melliflora @GaeaPapaya I really wish people wouldn't say stuff like this. Like, does that make me a bad person for having children then? I must be, at least in your opinion, because, in your opinion, 'Today's world is no place to bring a 6 year old kid into.'
@Foxhound141_67@LeighWolf@pt@jgarzik *write.
Tbh, the one about Biden is about as vague as most religious praise songs. Reminded me of the kinds of recitations that are written about dictators by their followers.
@mikeyjoyung@RossSchumann@HeyItsTerrell@ninaturner I'd never work retail or fast food again. I make way more than I would in either of those, and I never have to deal with 'the public'.
And my partner's wage is far higher than mine because I'm a hamster with 'homemaker' on my resume, and he's a hamster with 13 years experience.
@mikeyjoyung@RossSchumann@HeyItsTerrell@ninaturner Correct. I work in food production. We actually make a lot of the chicken products for major fast food chains. 40 hrs a week, entry-level position, 50-60k a year, depending on shift loading and overtime.
I'm a hamster, yes, and so is my partner, but he's on about 20k more.
@PhilMitchell83 I gave an alternative explanation, marking them lower because the teachers thought the boys were capable of more, and you said you'd still consider that misandry. Is there an explanation for this phenomenon that you'd consider possible AND not a result of misandry?
@PhilMitchell83 Ok, Phil. I get it. I just disagree. Jeez. And if all roads point to misandry, that's about as useful as the idea that all bad things that happen to women is misogyny.
@StoneyGuardian Why would someone be less intimidated by a hunting rifle than by a military-style weapon? Anything that big is going to hurt things it hits.
To my mind, open carry is open carry. And the best way to be less afraid of things is to expose yourself to them.
@PhilMitchell83 Or they think they're capable of more.
Once had a history teacher give me a D, not because their was anything wrong with my work, but because he thought I was capable of more. I think he was going for some Quirky Teacher move, but that wasn't the point of school grades.
@PhilMitchell83 That's fine. I disagree, but I'm more pedantic than most with language.
Thank you for continuing to bring attention to the mistreatment of men and boys.
@PhilMitchell83 I understand, I just disagree with the term to use. I'd use sexism, simply because with both misandry and misogyny, I define that as 'hatred' towards a gender, in an active sense, rather than unconscious bias, which is far more unintentional.
