I have played and watched hockey my entire life, but I don’t think I’ve seen a game end like this before (especially a pro hockey game)

@davewebb720141 Dvorsky had 14 even strength points in 71 games. That is pathetic when you play 14-15 minutes a night. Sundqvist, Tucker, and Berggren all had more even strength points in less games with the same TOI. If Blues don’t see Dvorsky as their 2C after this season they should trade him
If it goes through like this, then 2024 and 2025 high school graduates who are planning to play junior hockey this upcoming season will not have four years of eligibility. 2024 grads would have two. 2025 grads would have three.
@rickneaton@WinterSportsLaw You are correct. The CAA opted into the settlement. However, non-Power 4 schools can opt out at any time, but they have to decide to do so by March 1. So to my knowledge, W&M is locked in for this year but could opt out in the future (would 100% get pushback from the CAA though)
@rickneaton@WinterSportsLaw Not sure if you can flip flop opting in and out like that but schools in the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC are required to opt in
Blutman is spot on. 6 guys from the 2023 draft already have 100+ points. These young guys are so good nowadays that they can come right in and make an impact
It’s no coincidence that the Blues started winning after they got younger at the trade deadline
Let the young guys play
@SensBuzz I know he just re-signed, but as a Blues fan I would want Halliday in a return for Kyrou. I think he’s going to be a solid NHLer. Something like him + unprotected 1st round pick + Zetterlund could be a good foundation for a trade. Blues would definitely want more though
@SoberSamAdams@6ErikJohnson I was definitely not an NHL player but I did it because 1) I’m short and I felt having a stick that was even 1 inch longer helped me deflect more shots/passes and 2) you use the stick less so there are less nicks on it so when a shot hits it there was a less chance of it breaking
@STLBluesViews Blues need to trade up. They have the capital to do it. Haven’t had a player score 90 points in a season since 2003. Only two Blues D-men have scored 50+ points in a season since the lockout. Need to finally draft a player with elite skill. Already have a ton of middle 6 players
@mirageofwins@JLazzy23 Then shouldn’t the NCAA try to ensure that when all its athletes step onto campus they have at least enough eligibility to complete a bachelor’s degree? Instead of taking eligibility and potential scholarship money away from kids before they even enroll in a university?
@BizNasty2point0 Bigger and closer call in that sequence was the high stick in the NZ. Looked to me like Mittelstadt just barely touched the puck. Linesman looked like he was going to blow the play dead but changed his mind at the last second - Pasta scores a minute later
@stlanalytics@BluesProspects1 Not Rudolph? I’ve only watched a few games but he plays like a D-man that would excel in the NHL
Ik there are higher-risk guys on that list, but I think you need to be a little aggressive when you have 3 1sts (Blues picked too safe in ‘23 imo, needed to get someone like Nadeau)
@stlanalytics@BluesProspects1 I think the Blues could get him with COL’s pick, depending on where it is. Either way, it would be a great draft for STL imo if they could get at least two of these guys:
Daxon Rudolph, Nikita Klepov, Ilya Morozov, Tynan Lawrence, Liam Ruck, JP Hurlbert, Yegor Shilov, and Cullen
@DropThePuck74@danreilly I agree with you that they will most likely go outside of the organization - but what do you lose by giving either of them a chance to play a real nhl game and show what they’ve got once you’re eliminated from the playoffs? It’s exactly what SEA did with Ostman and Kokko
@sickdangles23@danreilly Marlies and Coachella are in playoffs yet TOR and SEA called those guys up
TBirds weren’t really in a playoff race they were always going to get the last spot over LV (TBirds had the tiebreaker too)
Also is what will likely be 2 AHL playoff games more valuable than an NHL game?
@danreilly When they played guys like Joseph, Bjugstad, Walker and Kessel who were bad game after game over guys like Texier/Berggren/Stenberg/Lindstein who were better players then and now
Blues got better when they traded 10/72 cause they finally had room to play the younger, better guys
@danreilly Those are moves they made months ago. I’m talking about moves they didn’t make once eliminated.
Example, if you really want to move on from 50, wouldn’t you like to see your 3rd goalie in a real nhl game?
If the Blues tanked at all this year it was at the start of the year …
