Everyone seems to have amnesia about how KATs contract was viewed before the trade and how often the wolves were declared winners of the trade or how Knicks fans wanted KAT gone over the past 2 seasons.

I like this move in a vacuum. Getting off Randle w/o attaching anything to him is a huge win.

Given the last 2 years of decision making (granted easy in hindsight) I don't fault the fans for lacking confidence that the financial flexibility gained will amount to something useful

Cannot believe how much “this is a bad trade” I’m seeing.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion — and it certainly isn’t good to have chose Julius Randle over Nickeil Alexander-Walker last summer — but for me personally, I’ve been calling it the dream scenario for the Wolves to be able to painlessly dump Randle’s salary.

Moving back 5 spots in the draft to get off $33M of money you no longer want is better than I thought it was going to be.

I think the proliferation of screenshots of Randle + DiVincenzo for Kyrie Irving or Ja Morant kind of warped the view of what Randle can fetch.

The theme of the Wolves exit interviews was “we need to get rid of our moodiness” and DiVincenzo has a torn achilles. I think the value of Randle + DiVincenzo was proven to be wildly exaggerated by the internet.
