There are quite a few new faces here, so I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself.

I’m J.B. Lloyd. I’m an American, a retired Army officer, husband and father, Christian, and avid reader.

I love history, particularly studying the lives and habits of great men who came before us. I enjoy the outdoors, trout fishing, tennis, and golf, and recently returned to sailing after several years away from it.

I try to never stop learning or working to become a better version of myself.

Manners matter to me. Treating others with dignity and respect costs nothing, but it can make the world around us a little better. How we present ourselves matters too. I still think there is something to be said for dressing well when you leave the house and putting your best foot forward.

More than anything, I value the timeless things in life like character, courtesy, personal responsibility, faith, family, and a life well lived. That’s really what this account is about.
