I thought retiring from basketball was the end of a chapter. I didn’t realize it was the beginning of my most important one.
After 18 years of professional basketball, my family and I moved to Naga the city where my wife grew up and where we chose to build our next chapter together.
I came here hoping to find ways to give back. What I didn’t expect was how quickly this community would welcome me.
What started as a conversation about https://t.co/KFXzAB3rpT, my social impact project under the Blockchain for Good Alliance focused on disaster preparedness and flood resilience, has grown into opportunities to support grassroots sports and youth development across the Bicol Region.
Basketball gave me more than a career. It gave me purpose, discipline, and a platform to serve others. Today, that same mission continues just in a different way.
To the people of Naga and Mayor Leni, thank you for the trust. I’m honored by the opportunity to contribute, excited for the work ahead, and committed to helping create more opportunities for the next generation.
@labapilipinas@ChainforGood Thank you! Sorsogon is definitely on the list. 😅 The more I explore Bicol, the more I realize how much there is still to learn and discover. 🙏
@nicky025@ChainforGood That’s exactly the hope. If technology can help people prepare earlier, make better decisions, and stay safer during disasters, then it’s doing what it was built to do. 🙏
@drealChrisZ@ChainforGood Chris, thank you. That means a lot.
Basketball gave me a platform, but hopefully this chapter is about using that platform to help create opportunities for others. The people of Bicol have welcomed my family with open arms, and I’m grateful for that every day. ❤️
@arcelo_ian@ChainforGood Hope is a powerful thing. No matter where we come from, I think we all want stronger communities, more opportunities for our youth, and a better future for the next generation. 🇵🇭
@ArielPe05990254@ChainforGood I won’t lie, that’s one of the reasons we made the move. It’s inspiring to be around people who genuinely care about serving others and improving their communities. Hoping to do my small part as well. 🙏
@jmsfnt@favismarvin@ChainforGood James my man! I’m always going to remember the time you got my son his first Pokémon card 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
I’ll never forget that man.
