El arbitraje venezolano volvió a decir presente en el escenario más importante del fútbol.

Proud to have proclaimed last week as Venezuelan-American Heritage Week in Houston!
Thank you to the Venezuelan American Center for everything you do. In the aftermath of Venezuela's devastating earthquakes, we send our love and appreciation to Venezuelan-Americans in our city and their families impacted by this disaster.
Even more than in the past, it is clear today that the proliferation of armed conflicts is often driven by the exploitation of oil and mineral deposits, with no regard for international law or the self-determination of peoples.
“Much of our conversations about Venezuela revolve around what it once was: TV programs, old music, cultural festivals that don't exist. Talking about tomorrow is almost always met with silence or a bitter joke.”

Look out for Venezuela's dugout dance tonight. This is tambores, a specific type of music and from Venezuela.
“What you see right there, that's us,” Venezuela manager Omar López said. “That's our country. That's us. That's winter ball. That's how we enjoy our baseball."
🫓🇺🇳 The UN reports at least 87 political arrests in 🇻🇪 since Maduro’s capture on January 3, warning that “the practice of silencing dissent persists under the current Government.”
It also says the new amnesty will simply not benefit a large share of political prisoners.
Henry, Perkins, Luis, Cathy, Dignora, María, Nikoll, Alby…
A recent post on Truth Social under President Donald Trump’s name used a racist meme to depict former President Obama and his wife, Michelle. It is very disturbing that anyone, much less the President of the United States or his staff members, should see racist memes as humorous or appropriate expressions of political discourse. They are deeply offensive and must be condemned in the strongest terms.
I join my voice to the many calling for a public apology with full acceptance of responsibility, and I also bristle at claims from the White House that the rage many of us feel is “fake.” Beyond the necessary apology, I also believe that we all must examine our conscience, individually and collectively. We need to recognize and acknowledge how prevalent racism continues to be in our society and commit ourselves to vigilance in counteracting its harm.
As Catholics, we believe that every person is made in the image and likeness of God. This sacred truth compels us to treat every human being with dignity, respect, and love. We must recommit ourselves to vigilance in counteracting the wounds caused by the evil of racism as truly we are called to be one human family.
🫓 Just 2 weeks ago, Marco Rubio told the 🇺🇸 Senate they'd consider how opposition politicians emerging from hiding and from prison would be treated.
Guanipa’s recapture shows chavismo’s refusal to accept disruptive behaviours. Will the US accept that? https://t.co/EiGHLI6zjw
#Venezuela@elhabito : 📣🌍 Message to international media about what continues to happen in Venezuela
There is no freedom when “release from prison” is disguised as house arrest, nor is there justice when deprivation of liberty simply changes walls.
The so-called alternative measures do not liberate: they extend the punishment, move the cell to the home, and normalize permanent surveillance.
These are not humanitarian concessions. They are systematic mechanisms of domination and control, designed to break wills and simulate legality.
Due to their repeated, organized, and targeted nature against the civilian population, they constitute crimes against humanity and must cease immediately.

🫓 Delcy places Guanipa under house arrest in Maracaibo, far from Caracas in western 🇻🇪
The initial release order that saw him out of prison for a few hours did not include this measure.
Chavismo clearly uneasy about politicians taking pro-democracy demands back to the streets.
