Scholars like @Kristina__Hook have been documenting and analyzing Russia’s genocide in Ukraine for years. Mark your calendars for this important discussion at @Harvard_Law.
Today is a day of mourning in Ukraine, one of far too many.
Global leaders must face the reality of Russian atrocity crimes.
A week from today, join us at Harvard Law School for "Evidence of Genocide in Ukraine: Acts, Intent, and the Targeting of National Identity." Details⬇️
"I beg you, stand up for the people of Oleshky who are doomed to die, as if they were your own children!"
We received a voice message from Oleshky, from a woman who was screaming: “Do something, please! Dogs are eating my father's body, and I can't even go outside because of the shelling and drones, I can't bury him." We managed to rescue this woman from occupied Oleshky, but countless people are still there.
Oleshky — the same «death zone» the entire world is finally talking about, remains under russian occupation to this day. The situation there right now is extremely dire: genocide is taking place in Oleshky. A famine deliberately engineered by the russian federation, simply because the people who live there are Ukrainians.
Just a week ago, a 13-year-old boy told me the hardest part for him was watching his parents refuse to eat, just so he could have at least one meal a day. Just imagine that trauma. And when this boy, after we rescued him, saw ordinary groceries, he said: «For me, this is a real celebration!»
We don't even know how many people, especially elderly ones, have died in their own homes, while dozens of bodies lie out in the streets. This is what the people we managed to rescue are telling us. We've evacuated over 300 people, mostly sick and elderly folks and families with children, and their stories are simply horrifying.
Watch this video to the end. Share it with your governments, with the presidents of your countries, with your friends, with the Ukrainian diaspora around the world. Informational banners are attached to this post.
I beg you, stand up for the people of Oleshky who are doomed to die, as if they were your own children and family. Don't stay indifferent! 🙏
It was a Kh-101 missile that struck a residential building in Kyiv, according to preliminary data.
The missile was manufactured in the second quarter of this year. This means Russia is still importing the components, resources, and equipment necessary for missile production in circumvention of global sanctions.
Stopping Russia’s sanctions evasion schemes must be a genuine priority for all our partners.
At least 18 civilians were reportedly killed and more than 120 were injured in renewed Russian long-range missile and drone attacks on multiple cities across Ukraine that started on Wednesday evening and continued through the night. The attack struck Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Kyiv, some of Ukraine largest cities.
Our team visited several impact sites in Kyiv, including one where a 12-year-old boy was killed in an overnight attack and talked to witnesses and victims. In total, the attack killed at least four civilians and injured 62, including four children, in the capital, according to local authorities.
In Odesa, one of the injured told us about a young couple - a 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man - who were killed in an early morning strike that damaged a residential building. They were among 9 people killed in the evening and overnight attacks on the city, according to local authorities.
This latest barrage is one of the deadliest single waves of attacks in recent weeks, bringing April’s verified civilian casualties so far to at least 91 killed and hundreds injured. The high number of civilian casualties in April follows a sharp rise in civilian deaths and injuries in March.
"If world leaders cannot secure the return of the most vulnerable victims of Russia’s aggression, how could Ukrainians trust that those same leaders can prevent Russia from reigniting the war or committing new atrocities?" - Kristina Hook @Kristina__Hook

Imagine your child is taken from school or home by a foreign army. You don’t know where they are. No phone call. No goodbye. Weeks later, you see their photo on a government-linked website — listed with a fake name, described like a product: “quiet,” “obedient,” “blue eyes.” Someone on the other side of the border is browsing, deciding whether to take them.
This isn’t a nightmare. This is the reality for thousands of Ukrainian families.
russia has created an online platform where users can “choose” Ukrainian children abducted from the occupied territories.
The so-called “catalog” allows filtering children by photo, gender, eye and hair color, and personality descriptions. Children are effectively being displayed as merchandise. This is not merely deportation — this is systematic human trafficking, bearing all the hallmarks of state-sanctioned digital slavery.
Such actions by the russian federation are a direct violation of international humanitarian law, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the Rome Statute. These are war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Once again, russia proves it is not merely a terrorist state. It operates as a state of human traffickers. In the 21st century.
“Every day, we see a level of radicalization & cruelty that only makes sense if Russia’s goal is national extermination.
Our leaders must publicly name this crime- Ukraine’s children are being abducted by extremists who also openly threaten America & our allies.”
