Christmas Eve 2023. The PA circus rolls into an impoverished community with brand-new bicycles wrapped up like real presents. Kids’ eyes light up. They tear the paper off, climb on the bikes, and Gayton poses for the cameras like Father Christmas himself. Big smiles. Photo ops. “Look at me, the man of the people giving to the poor.”

Then the cameras stop. The “presents” get taken straight back. One little boy later told a neighbour with a sad face: “The uncle took it away.”

When the parents lost it and called him out for the publicity stunt, the excuses started flying. First it was “we only took the bikes back because there were no helmets, we don’t want the kids getting hurt.” Then it became “these bikes are for a proper cycle park we’re going to build, ward by ward, starting right here.” They even flashed photos of some helmets they supposedly bought after the fact.

Fast forward.
No bikes handed out.
No helmets distributed.
No cycle park.
Nothing.

Just another empty promise from a man who specialises in photo ops and disappearing acts. The same pattern we’ve seen with solar farms that never materialised, fundraising money that somehow never reached the people it was meant for, and now ministerial budgets vanishing into luxury trips while actual facilities rot.

Degenerate liar. Pure and simple. He used poor children’s Christmas excitement as a campaign prop, then yanked the joy away the second the pictures were in the bag. That’s not politics. That’s low-life behaviour.

Something a convicted bank robber would do.

Department of Correctional Services employees who went to court after the department discriminated against them because they are Coloured.

In 2012, the department refused to promote them despite the fact that they were the best candidates for the job.

They took the department to court and 4 years later, the constitutional court ruled that the department’s decision not to appoint or promote them constituted unfair discrimination and unfair labour practices.

This will have a significant positive impact on all non-black people in South Africa.

It has been a long road for them, but they fought against discrimination and they won.
