Sorry for the delay in commenting. I was getting prepared to go on CBS Sports to talk Ryan Silverfield and Arkansas, but they decided Florida and Auburn hires were way more interesting and decided last minute not to have me on. I can't say I blame them. I'd bump me too.
This is nothing against Ryan Silverfield. He wants the Arkansas head coaching job. Glad someone does... But it just shows how disconnected Arkansas is with their own fanbase.
There is literally not one single Hog fan I have seen who has expressed excitement on a day everyone was looking forward to since this started. I see angry, apathetic, sad, disbelief and laughter as a means of coping.
But should it be a surprise? As I have said many times, as you all good and well know, Arkansas has the worst football program in the SEC. So these are the kinds of decisions you get.
Arkansas needed to make a hire fans could rally behind, a hire that would lead to a groundswell of support, and this just is not what anybody had in mind. #wps
@JoshPateCFB Arkansas has to be the weirdest job to predict but they’ve gotta stop the downtrend optics off the last 4 coaching hires:
A guy leaving an NFL HC job to come.
Big 10 power HC off 3 straight Rose Bowls.
14-22 AAC HC.
Career OL coach that’d never even been a coordinator.

Blown 6pt lead with under 2 minutes in the Sweet 16. Cleat stuck in the turf in the CWS. It’s the athletic department. I blame the Louisianans and their voodoo..
@JoshPateCFB Rigged crapshoot is inaccurate, but there’s groupthink and there’s causation that =\= correlation. Cases every year of 3 stars being pursued by every SEC team - and if that guy commits to Bama he’s suddenly a 4-5 star but if he chooses UK instead of Bama, he is locked in as a 3.
4th fight in a row commentary has accused Pantoja of getting tired before he absolutely mauls a title challenger. Eventually y’all just have to consider that this guy is, in fact, NOT tired. #UFC317
@MattMartin3 It was and should have been let him go until the get the tying run on deck. That never happened. Plus Will is a true Hog that could’ve been a weekend starter for 90% of college baseball programs and stayed. He deserved to finish.
@JohnNaborsShow Good and bad.
The good is he’s one of the 2 best arms and gives you a better chance of winning the UCLA game.
The bad is it’s going to be extremely tough to beat LSU twice without him.
BUT, if the Hogs do claw all the way back and win.. he and Wood both pitch the NC series.
