The Burr–Hamilton duel was fought #OnThisDay in 1804 at Weehawken, New Jersey between Vice President Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton, former Secretary of the Treasury.
Burr shot and mortally wounded Hamilton, who died the next day.
