Rightstuf was so significant because you can buy nearly every JP-related media on there ranging from anime, manga, live-action, and R18 works.

Everything was also packaged with care and they often held deep sales.

It was the one-stop hub for your otaku needs and its closure meant the fragmentation of all those media. And unfortunately, there really hasn't been a successor as good as it since.

@MrManderly Network shows still do the 20 episodes a year format and it's those shows that makes me keep Peacock (Chicago franchise) and Paramount+ (Ghosts, Tracker among others) subscribed to almost year around. Whereas the other services I barely think about.
