#makingsocialmedia We must remember that our online SM identities sometimes differ from our offline identities. I can easily only show minimal parts of my life to shape my SM identity to my liking. Here is a collage I made of parts of my offline identity that I don't share online
Many characteristics make up one's identity. There are good and bad sides to all of us. Do you show your offline identity characteristics (the positives/negatives) through your SM identity? Ethnicity, religion, sense of self, personality, individualism, etc. #makingsocialmedia
I'm different across all my SM platforms. I'm hesitant and/or performing on public sm platforms. I use a more recognisable handle on my private accounts and present a more authentic self. I feel more comfortable being authentic with my friends/family that know me personally.
#makingsocialmedia Do you have the same SM identity across all social media platforms? Or do you present a different persona in some or all? Are you authentically yourself in some and performing in others? If so, why?
I must remember to think this way regarding my idols (rose-coloured glasses). Are they authentically themselves, or is their online identity just a performance that has won my time? #makingsocialmedia
Is there authenticity in our online identities? I often focus on how my posts can be perceived and how that can change/influence my online persona. #makingsocialmedia
@hartley_hx If you're thinking about vegan treats or yummy foods, Happy Tummies online has heaps, I order from them. I'll add their link in. https://t.co/wAJhIKvUsE
RIP. Kirsty Alley has always been one of my favourite Actors. It Takes Two, Look Who's Talking, For Richer or Poorer, and Madhouse are some of her incredible movies that made the 90's the greatest!
I had no idea creative commons existed before studying social media at Deakin. Now I know and have made this handy infographic to keep as a reminder of what each licence means. Remember, many of these licences can be combined. #makingsocialmedia
Meerkats are so adorable 🥰 Hopefully I do creative commons correctly 🙃
