#119 in the Criterion Collection is Withnail and I, a story of two out of work actors who are high and drunk the whole time...and enjoy a nice break in the country. https://t.co/IiA7pRQ8Xn
The Masters of the Universe movie is a lot of fun. It captures that 80s action feeling, but with a better budget. I never watched He-Man as a kid, but I thought this was well done. Plus, cameo from Dolph, and the What's Going On song were both in the movie, which is all I needed.
#118 in the Criterion Collection is Sullivan's Travels, which is a really fun comedy/drama/romance about a rich man trying (and mostly failing) to figure out what it's like to be downtrodden. I really liked it. https://t.co/AdYYZuMWkX
#117 in the Criterion Collection is Dairy of a Chambermaid, in which not much happens, and the little bit that does happen doesn't mean anything. https://t.co/Q01x5bOZGI
#116 in the Criterion Collection is The Hidden Fortress, another Kurosawa classic. Two comic relief characters star, as the dramatic story sort of happens behind their back. https://t.co/olJDKFWWTw
#114 in the Criterion Collection is My Man Godfrey. A decent comedy, but the romance angle doesn't work for me. The story of a homeless man who regains his pride. https://t.co/mRqL2n3wmU
#113 in the Criterion Collection is Big Deal on Madonna Street. The easiest way I can describe this is, an Italian version of Ocean's 11, but all the criminals are idiots. https://t.co/VGPMqSU7HF
Not even my poor broken throat can stop the Criterion Collection reviews, #112 is Playtime, the greatest of the Mr. Hulot films (so far) a comedy that satirizes modernity and automation. A beautiful spectacle for the eyes and ears...and a really long film. https://t.co/uDZaY2uNOt
It's all led to this. Home on the RNG's review of Final Fantasy VII, with very special guest reviewer @Graham_LRR, check it out wherever you get your podcasts, or at this link. https://t.co/1rQTSEpYsv
#111 in the Criterion Collection is Mon Oncle, another slapstick comedy from France. You'll have to pardon my voice in this one, I just had throat surgery. https://t.co/3z2FygEKc8
#110 in the Criterion Collection is Mr. Hulot's Holiday. It also could have been called "The Inspiration for Mr. Bean" which gives you a good idea of the kind of movie you're looking at here. https://t.co/g5nj0AlJFU
#109 in the Criterion Collection is The Scarlet Empress. It's time to go back to Russia for another historical drama...this time done by Americans, but I'm sure it'll be a fair and balanced look at the topic. https://t.co/PWWOHPbPKJ
Whoops, my last post contained a link to the Home on the RNG podcast, not the Criterion Review episode, my bad. The correct link is https://t.co/UVk9efBCsm
#107 in the Criterion Collection is Coup de Torchon. A French film about a racist, philandering cop who goes on a murder spree. I didn't enjoy this one. https://t.co/KhnHVOgzU0
#105 in the Criterion Collection is Spartacus, and there's a lot to talk about, the star, the writer, the director, all of them have a story behind them. Great movie, but they could easily make a movie about the making of the movie. https://t.co/btU8Bpp7q5
#104 in the Criterion Collection is Double Suicide. It's a Japanese melodrama, and as the title may lead you to suspect, it doesn't end well. But this movie does something I've never seen before? What is it? Watch the review! https://t.co/EveIs0P4He
