The gridlock in the House is quite interesting. There is a small group of representatives that are doing just that, representing their constituents. The rest of Congress on both sides of the aisle are there to represent themselves first and foremost.

I don't see this as a major issue. The importance of government is overstated and gridlock will actually be widely accepted by Americans who are tired of the status quo and frankly I think its a larger part of the population than simply reflected by this smaller group of reps.
