@writerofscratch I ask students which pronouns I should use to refer to them in a little questionnaire at the top of every semester. I've had at least two they/them students in every class for the last three years. JKR is an incurious goofus.
@FSohns I think @RaraSensei is pointing to a really important point about language, that words are tools for expressing ideas to specific listeners (or oneself). And one of the wonderful things about being multilingual is that you belong to several groups!
Internet Archive provides the only reliable backup of the internet. There is no documented history of this current age without them, and they are again under attack. If you can, please support the important work being done by Internet Archive. I just donated $50.
@FSohns "Whenever the white man treats the Indian as they treat each other, then we will have no more wars. We shall be all alike ― brothers of one father and one mother, with one sky above us and one country around us, and one government for all."

@HobbyDrifter Because it is made to prioritize engagement while making you feel like you are learning. Unfortunately, making the app cognitively challenging or useful for acquisition hurt their engagement numbers, so they do this shit.
I used to sing and dance for five year old Japanese kids, during the summer, in Kyushu, in a suit. Tropical wool is the reason I am alive today to tell the tale.
whenever someone says tailoring is too hot i wonder if they know about tropical wool, a class of open-weave fabrics made with such a porous weave, they look like a mesh screen when held to the light
@MaureenKosse "I'm a human, and as a human I make mistakes. If you think I made a mistake on your grade, email me or join my Zoom office hours." (in Japanese)
So far the only times a student has contacted me was when I really did make a mistake, and I was grateful!
In the Zephyr RPG, character creation is largely focused around determining your character's interpretation of a variety of Origin Myths (presented in comic form), which shape their identity and outlook on the world, as well as their mechanics.
