The Trump administration has set a policy of non-enforcement in connection with the Corporate Transparency Act, relieving U.S. entities of the CTA’s reporting requirements: https://t.co/npfdCQrf5z
For all the MN political geeks out there, if you don’t own this book, find it, buy it, and read it. The aftermath of the 1990 Grunseth for Governor campaign has impacted Republican endorsement campaigns for statewide office ever since.
@kriers …and Arne Carlson won in 1990 & 1994 without party endorsement (Tim Pawlenty was endorsed and won twice but also won both times in a 4-way race with Independence and Green Party candidates as “major party” candidates)
@WalterSchw82170 Agreed. I’m all for primaries. When you go 20 years without an endorsed candidate winning a general statewide, something’s not working.
DeRUSHA: Was it appropriate to have a moment of silence for Derek Chauvin?
SCHWARZE: I was greeting people at the other end of the building. I wasn't even there
DeRUSHA: Do you think it was appropriate?
SCHWARZE: I'm not gonna comment
DeRUSHA: It's a moment of silence. You didn't have to witness it
SCHWARZE: I'll stay on message. I'm not gonna talk about it
“Klobuchar’s temperament was an issue during her 2020 presidential campaign…”
Lest we not forget that Klobuchar’s horrible boss routine was the inspiration behind this famous @VeepHBO scene…
NEW: Minnesota GOP Chairman Alex Plechash released a statement saying "I believe it is appropriate to make clear that any gubernatorial candidate who agreed to abide by the endorsement, should not be treated as bound by that pledge. Those candidates may make their own decision about whether to continue their campaign into the primary.
Plechash cited the voting irregularities that occurred during Saturday's gubernatorial endorsing process as the rationale for his statement.
Despite this, Plechash said "we remain confident in the integrity of the data, the results reported, and the endorsed candidates chosen by the convention."
He also said the Minnesota Republican Party "stands behind its endorsed candidates. Only our endorsed candidate for Governor, Kendall Qualls, will receive the full support, resources, and organizational backing of the state party."
Being the “candidate of the grassroots” when “the grassroots” haven’t picked a winning general election candidate in 20 years isn’t the flex some think it is.
In a phone call with reporters, Kendall Qualls said he is “thrilled” by the results of the convention. He said he is “ready” for a competitive primary involving Mike Lindell and Lisa Demuth.
Demuth has not yet said whether she will run in the August GOP primary for governor.
Instead of just delegates choosing the candidate, maybe eliminate party-endorsing conventions & go straight to the primary election (June seems like a good time). The more people participating in our democracy, the better! Turn convention weekends into a training opportunity.
43 years ago, Michael Jackson walked on stage wearing that fedora and introduced the moonwalk to the world during his iconic Billie Jean performance.
Pure magic that still blows minds today…
