@marvelouskrs @HUDgov@USICHgov Like many across the nation last month, I attended memorial services to read the names of those who had died without homes and to make sure they are not forgotten. @NationalHomeles and @NatlHCHCouncil do great work to track the numbers.
So much great work by so many people across the country to make this happen. Don’t let anyone tell you that what you’re doing isn’t working. Now we need to scale up housing and services and turn off the faucets that cause folks to become homeless in the first place.
Ending homelessness is a priority for the Biden administration. In just over a year, @HUDgov, USICH, @DeptVetAffairs, and 100+ communities worked together to end homelessness for 140,000+ Americans. #HouseAmericaAchievements

🏘️Lead to more affordable rents and more attainable homeownership
"Until we address housing affordability in Seattle, and across King County and across the nation, we’re going to continue to struggle with homelessness." - @jeffolivet
The biggest way you combat homelessness is affordable housing! https://t.co/GqVQXMspIk
Encampments aren’t the problem.
A lack of affordable housing is the problem.
We need to know what we’re solving for if we ever want to see real change.
