A decade-long wait has ended. Marvin Ridge baseball is a champion once again.
For the first time since going back-to-back in 2015 and 2016, the Mavericks have climbed the ladder of NCHSAA baseball, winning the 7A championship with a 6-2 victory over Holly Springs in Game 3. The Mavericks were led by series MVP Alex Hampton.

I made him earn every victory and stole a few from him along the way. We took our shots at each other, in the media and on the track. We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.
