Ok I know some of yall missed my yapping here on twitter 😭 I'm sorry friends it's been 3 years ish since I properly used this main but I'll make it up lol expect more politics, science, and, of course, Bini
this does indeed seem an absurd desire that begot this desire path… IF you assume the path was caused by the desires of organisms just like you — i.e., bipedal human ambulators
but then you realize this path is the most natural desire in the world for a DIFFERENT type of organism: one with a much different affordance/constraint topology than that occupied by those of “similar mind”…
bicycles!
this pattern is isomorphic to the general prısmatıc variation which differentiates all humans. if ever you see an “absurd desire”, remember… perhaps you just don't understand how their affordances & constraints differ from your own to produce such (ostensibly) aberrant behavior
Pre-colonial Philippine natives worshipped nature. Our ancestors were animists. Why build a temple when you can just worship a tree, a river, your family ancestor's statues at home?
Even now, rural folk avoid certain parts of the forest in respect of supernatural beings.
I did not expect that all of a sudden Dreamworks, massive western media corp makes a movie about Filipinos and as a result, also created Filipino furrIES along the way which is insane levels of niche. Its such a huge whiplash from what we’ve used to
they are literally doing everything right for this Filipino movie
✓ Filipino Tropes
✓ Mythology representation
✓ Popular nation groups
✓ High quality animations
✓ Pinoy culture
✓ Furry bait
I'm hyped for this movie. For MANY reasons. But one big one is getting to enjoy a movie about a friendship that doesn't revolve around romance. I think the love from friendship is weirdly underappreciated in media.
The animation is as MAXIMALIST as our Filipino culture! The colors are so rich and saturated! Forgotten Island will definitely be a visual feast!
And it will also be a feast for the ears, too! I am looking forward to hearing SB19’s version of Francis M’s Mga Kababayan in the movie!
