The residents of Mississippi DID NOT approve $2 million for school vouchers; and yet, it was snuck into an appropriation bill. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are upset, as they should be. This is abuse of our legislative system!
It is absolutely shameful that there are some in the lawmaking body of Mississippi that would seek to dupe and trick innocent Mississippians into paying for something that they simply did not approve.

Nuclear Academies will train our young men and women to work in our local nuclear power plant. This is important, as it's a direct pipeline from education to the workforce. https://t.co/k9FbME0YVr
It was my absolute honor to introduce and welcome the SWAC champions @AlcornStateU Braves football team this week. As a proud Alcornite and former Braves football player, it made me happy to see Alcorn's accomplishments recognized at the capital. #alcornstateuniversity
As lawmakers debate the pay raises for our teachers, I ask you to stand with us by staying informed about this very important issue. If lawmakers see that this issue is important to you (the people), then they will have to do the right thing.
We cannot all agree that our teachers should be paid more, and then turn around and offer them a measly extra $500 a year. Our teachers are worth more than that.
But I'm going to be honest with you: The bill that has been put before the Senate that will give teachers a $1000 pay raise across 2 years is simply a slap in the face, and it's shameful.
If you've kept up with the news, then I'm sure that you've heard about the push for pay raises for Mississippi teachers. We have support across the state all the way from the governor to even the Republicans in the House of Representatives.
I am proud to welcome Claiborne County Future Farmers of America (FFA) students to the Mississippi capitol. I serve on the Agriculture committee, and I stand with Mississippi farmers and workers, as they are the backbone of our state economy. #msleg
Happy to finally join Twitter as part of my strategy to effectively communicate legislative information to my constituents, as well as other information that Mississippians need to know. I look fwd to keeping you all updated with happenings in the Capital. #MSleg#MSgov
