I'm pleased to announce that my new book, "The Pardon: The Politics of Presidential Mercy," is now available for pre-order, in advance of publication in Feb 2025. Kind of timely, I'm thinking.

@nytimes Trump just pardoned himself. Actually, Blanche's letter is better than a pardon because it frees him of civil liability as well as criminal.

Always risky to predict Supreme Court decisions based on oral argument (I have the t-shirt), but the birthright citizenship argument is going poorly for the Trump Administration.
Not only is my friend @JeffreyToobin a great legal analyst, but he's also a self-described “obsessive” golfer. And he writes about Golf. He has some thoughts on Tiger Woods’ serious legal problems.

NEW and BREAKING:
In a major reversal, the Trump admin is NOW trying to walk back its decision to walk away from defending the law firm executive orders in court.
DOJ just notified the four fighting law firms that it now intends to continue defending the legality of the orders in court.
A day ago, DOJ had a very different position.
