it’s been said that for the past few years, all scripts for female leads in chungmuro go to kim goeun first. one measure of an actor’s power is whether their name alone can attract investors to a project, and currently, kim goeun is the only actress who possesses this power.

last year at the blue dragon film awards, jang jaehyun, the director of exhuma (which won best director), teared up during his acceptance speech and said “kim goeun, i am thankful that you are a korean actress.” i was in the audience at the time, and i welled up with tears, thinking it was the greatest compliment an actor could ever receive.

EMPAT nama karakter utama di film horor Exhuma adalah nama-nama pahlawan pada masa Imperialisme Jepang, karena film ini bertema nasionalisme Korea.

1. Hwarim (diperankan oleh Kim Goeun). Karakter shaman muda ini namanya diambil dari YI HWARIM (1909-1999). Anggota Korps Patriotik Korea yang membantu misi Yoon Bonggil dengan menyamar menjadi istrinya.

2. Bonggil (diperankan oleh Lee Dohyun). Karakter asisten shaman ini namanya diambil dari YUN BONGGIL (1908–1932). Aktivis kemerdekaan yang mengebom perayaan kemenangan tentara Jepang di Shanghai.

yang aku ingat dari #Exhuma adalah teori tentang 'rubah melukai punggung harimau'

jika dilihat secara detail, peta semenanjung korea ini menyerupai harimau.

menurut sejarah, korea mengalami masa pendudukan jepang selama 35 tahun di tahun 1910-1945.

pada masa akhir penjajahannya, tersiar kabar bahwa jepang memasang 'pasak besi' di sebuah area pegunungan korea.

lokasi pasak besi ini diyakini berada di daerah perbatasan korea utara dan korea selatan.

pasak besi ini bertujuan untuk memberikan efek negatif kepada korea sekaligus menandai bahwa area itu masih merupakan daerah kekuasaan jepang.

entah benar atau tidak, tapi sampai sekarang korea terpecah belah dan tidak bisa bersatu.

pasak besi ini dipasang oleh seorang biksu jepang yang bernama gisune, konon katanya dia adalah siluman rubah.

gisune dengan ilmu hitamnya memasang pasak besi dengan cara menancapkannya di tubuh seorang jenderal jepang dan menguburkannya secara vertical.

jadi kesimpulannya gisune si siluman rubah melukai punggung harimau (wilayah perbatasan korea selatan dan korea utara) dengan pasak besi yang dia tanam di tubuh jenderal jepang itu.
