A raw and powerful exploration of loss and grief. Though Kübler-Ross' work is sometimes criticised for implying linear, fixed stages of grief, I don't believe that was her intention. I appreciated the nuance and depth of her writing.

"We left for our final sunrise outing on Mosquera Islet, saying goodbye to the white sand beach, a lava gull, some twin sealions, and a frigate bird chasing another frigate bird with an eel in its mouth."

On Halloween, we wear masks, try on different identities, and reveal (and conceal) parts of ourselves. It makes me wonder whether the 'spooky season' can offer a way to safely experiment with who we really are - including aspects of ourselves that feel scary to face.
One of the biggest things that underlies anxiety is the fear of uncertainty - the fear of not knowing. If you're looking for support in building more safety within yourself and managing anxiety, you can find information about my therapy services here:

Regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not, this book is important, especially in a world where so many people have been programmed to think that being ‘single’ means being ‘incomplete’.

Building a relationship with yourself - rooted in care, curiosity, and awareness - can feel hard when inner shame voices say you're not worth the effort. But you are. And it's some of the most meaningful work there is.
Views like this instantly make me think about the responsibility we all have to tend to and protect our natural world in whatever way we can. Caring for the earth is also a way of caring for ourselves🌴

On my recent trip to Norway, there seemed to be purple flowers everywhere - so bold against the pale blue landscape. It's inspired me to learn more about native plants in different countries, and I hope that this newfound knowledge helps me slow down enough to really notice them.

Having trained in Humanistic-Integrative psychotherapy, this was a staple on my shelf. Even now, after exploring other modalities since my training days, I still think about it. Thought-provoking, hopeful, and revolutionary.

Dreaming and planning for the future can be a beautiful thing, and is often necessary. But for those of us whose minds spiral into anxiety, sometimes the most helpful practice to return to is taking things one day at a time and focusing on present-moment awareness.
One of the many breathtaking views from my Norway road trip this summer. It's rare to see beauty so untouched and landscapes so transcendent. It felt like absolute magic.

"We've travelled 433.5 nautical miles over the last week - my life has been changed again, and I've fallen in love with the islands. I know, with a deep sense of knowing I can't describe, that I'll be back one day."
