The School Board had the great pleasure of recognizing more of our outstanding staff! The winners of our new Great People, Great Deeds initiative for the month of October.
Great People, Great Deeds honors one instructional and one non-instructional VCS employee who go above and beyond their work duties to impact the greater community. This quarter we are thankfully sponsored by @UncsIceCream.
This month, we honored:
Instructional: Mrs. Theresa Cameron, 4th Grade Teacher at Indian River Elementary (@IRESManatees). Thank you, Mrs. Cameron, for always making good things happen and making sure our students have what they need to be successful.
Non-Instructional: Thank you Mr. Ron Young, Director, Facilities Planning & Construction, for exemplifying the spirit of Great People, Great Deeds and preventing a potentially dangerous situation for a student at @CitrusGrove_VCS.

What an amazing day at @CitrusGrove_VCS Elementary! Witnessed the magic as Madam Marie Castellanos brought the beauty of French to a 3rd-grade class. Merci for inspiring young minds! #AchievingExcellenceTogether
Educators: The first day of school is an amazing opportunity. What can you do on Day 1 that has your kids running back to you on Day 2? We can’t forget: “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” Make the first day count! #FutureReady
Don't stop reading! Finish strong with 40 days of summer reading and receive a ticket to a Daytona Tortugas game, plus free meal cards from @Zaxbys and @MarcosPizza. Sponsored by @daytonatortugas.
Greetings, VCS Parents! The Parent Portal is a great way for parents/guardians to stay connected to their student's grades, attendance, assessments and now offers a convenient way to pay for field trips and other school related activities.
This new feature will be available beginning Monday, July 24th, and additional information will follow in the upcoming weeks. We encourage all parents to set up their account.
For more information on how to set up your Parent Portal account visit: https://t.co/BMr7sBkBrs or call our Help Desk at 386-734-7190 ext. 25000.
