Even Greater London in 1887 is a place of mystery, adventure, absurdity, off-the-chart technology, a cyber-Queen Victoria, and an über-powerful corps of engineers, established by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Into this dazzling mix, protagonists Archibald Fleet and Clara Entwhistle are thrust, up to their necks in danger and intrigue.

Comparisons with Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett are well deserved. Always witty, always compelling, in creating its own version of 1887 ‘High Vaultage’ has much to say about the absurdities of our world in 2025.
