"So, I don't hear the latest information on what goes on. Besides what my handler updates me on when new quests are posted."
She said casually, the woman does seem she lived in the camp much more the main one.
"We were."
She replied and dawned the last bit of her tea, "the monster was defeated. As far as I am aware, we hadn't had much trouble afterward."
She placed her cup down, "but you're talking to a hunter who spends more time in the field. Then the main camp itself."
"I suppose it's also the nature of my job. Hard to trust people when the entire foundation of your existence is "Trust no-one and be ready for the inevitable knife in the back". Perhaps my bias is simply too great to see otherwise."
Thadd shrugged a moment, setting down his─
She said after considering his words carefully, "it's hard to fathom not being able to trust many people."
Her head tilted to the left a bit, and she finished up her warm cup of tea. Her eyes stared at the empty cup for a moment.
"That description is certainly hard to imagine," she said with a soft chuckle. Picturing a Rathian in a suit and talking like a normal human.
She took a sip of her tea, seemly throwing the words of what he said together. Imagining it all in her mind's eye.
"No more no less than the average hunter." He stifled a laugh, taking another sip of the warm tea. "I've experienced your lifestyles before, no stranger to the whims of fickle fate that the local denizens put you and your kin through."
Thadd moved to take another sip of─
"Given my encounters of others like yourself, it's certainly still believable." She said after a moment of silence.
She paused once more, "guess I should count my blessings then. I know more good people than those you explained from your world."
She placed down her cup beside her, her arms resting on her legs, and she looked toward him.
"Your world," she started with. "What is it like?" She asked to get an idle conversation going.
She had her cup of steaming tea.
Taking a sip of it after she sat before the crackling fire, letting its warmth protect her from the cold.
"It sounds like you endured many things," she said after a moment or two of silence.
After a brief's moment hesitation eyeing the cup, he sat up to take it from the woman's hands.
"Charmed." Thadd hopped to his feet, pacing over to sit by the fire. For a moment he said nothing while studying the cup before bringing it to his lips.
Satisfied, He exhaled.─
She held the cup above him where he could easily take it, "Jen," she said her name. "You're not the only one I seen before, I can understand your frustration of what you endured."
"For now, why you're welcome to sit by the fire and gather your thoughts."
He made his reaction, and she didn't say much of it nor reacted much as he explained his case.
She had a spare cup out and poured a cup of hot tea, taking it to the stranger from another realm.
The man rolled his eyes as he slowly fell back flat into the snow. He lay there a moment staring up at the pale blue sky as flakes of powdered snow cascades down around them.
"Forgive me, the reaction is warranted considering what it entails for me. Returning home the last─
"To get to Astera, you'll need a ship, and that is a three day journey." She continued on to explain, letting the other man know.
Though she has not yet revealed her name.
"You are in the New World."
Replied the Hunter who sat by the fire, "you're in the Hoarfrost Reach, several hours away from the main camp called Seliana."
She stood, brushing off some of the snow that gathered on her shoulders. She doesn't seem to be bothered by the cold much.
@JenTheHuntress
"I believe I'm a long, 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 way from home once more. Last time I saw a hunter of your calibre, I was in a place people referred to as the 𝑁𝑒𝑤 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑, or 𝐴𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎." the cloaked figure spoke softly, reaching up to rub his temples.
"If that 𝑖𝑠─
@MogasFinest ((If I wasn't so broke...
I'd use it myself, but sadly, current bills keep my hands tied. I only know of it because I had a friend who told me about it.
Last I checked, its price was $30 a month. Not a bad price at all if it is available in a budget.
She asked, her green eyes focused on him. As if she could stare right through him, it seems the woman spent more time in the field than in camp.
When it came to her being basically blunt in her way of speaking.
"Suit yourself, old man."
Replied the redheaded woman with a casual shrug. She wasn't going to waste anymore time on this matter.
Hunters, riders. She personally didn't care who she worked with long as she got the results that she needed for her reports.
" handler ? " shang snorts incredulously , shifting his weight against his glaive again . " i work alone , save for when i ' m out on an expedition with the admiral . "
another kinsect appears , landing atop the surly man ' s glaive , and he produces a small pellet +
"If I happen to stumble on your corpse, I'll be sure to return it for a proper burial." She coldly said without much remorse.
"Moving on, I assume you are currently on a solo expedition? Given how you are out here in the fields on your own?"
"You send out your Handler, let them give in reports that would be needed. There, the Admiral would leave you alone."
She replied, as if she had been doing that. Then again, if the other Hunter could recall. The redhead Hunter has rarely been seen back in camp.
" dying on the field ? hah ! i would sooner -- " the man ' s words are cut off with a hiss of pain as he shifts his weight , leaning further on his glaive as he does so . the kinsect perched upon his arm flutters its wings , letting out a noise that sounds concerned for its +
For weeks to no end, that is. Perhaps she found a way to gain rest and still do her job in the meantime?
"It's what I do a lot when investigating things," she informed. One arm left the motion of being crossed.
As she fixed a flock of hair that got between her eyes.
