@lesstenny The decks are going to shuffle. A split between Libs, Nats, PHON and possibly Reform. Price can’t go back to Nats. Hastie won’t stay the back of the bus. It’s going to be messy.

“Attorneys for Debbie Brockman, released with no charges, deny agent’s claim she ‘threw objects’ at border patrol car“ https://t.co/v7mNTzcbpD
@ChuckTaylor1973 @will2powr @TerryMoran@redbeard36@tricycleplot@radiofreejenn You probably think it’s ok that kids get shot at schools. If true which it’s been proven now it wasn’t. Th claim was a water bottle. It’s an over reaction and abuse of power. These are hardly federal officers. They are little more than bounty hunters.
@midnightbakerNZ@LetsTalkDGU@Bleacher_Bunch Following this from Australia and wow. The comments show that not only is your government happy to show excessive force or simply attack people, that your community and fellow Americans generally doesn’t give a shit about each other either. Tourism is going to tank.
@GiGi_UFO@MancowMuller I live on the other side of the world. I don’t think she should be embarrassed. I think your behaviour and the behaviour of your government is much more embarrassing. I do these should sue. Even if guilty of throwing something it’s excessive force.
@tricycleplot @will2powr @TerryMoran Even if this was true the reaction is overly zealous. It does not warrant the treatment she endured or the trolling she is suffering. As an Aussie life looks pretty shit as an American.
Whether this girl was a citizen, a legal resident, or undocumented is irrelevant.
Whether she was perfectly law-abiding or accused of a crime is irrelevant.
A grown man kneeling on the neck of a 15-year-old girl (one who also wasn't resisting) is beyond the pale—an act indefensible under any circumstance.
Anyone who hasn’t lost their humanity knows this.
UPDATE: Debbie Brockman—released without charges.
The veteran producer for WGN in Chicago was violently detained yesterday by Border Patrol. DHS issued a statement claiming that Brockman had thrown an object at the Border Patrol vehicle, and that she would be charged with assaulting a federal officer. A very serious charge. Now it’s gone.
It would be rare for an administration, but especially this one, to drop a charge of assault of a federal officer.
An eyewitness said that he saw the entire incident, and did not see Brockman throw anything.
It seems that the claim DHS made would not hold up in court. Many federal judges have said that the Trump administration’s representations in court cannot be trusted.
Another possibility: These were Border Patrol agents. There is no international border anywhere near Chicago, and there are significant constraints and limits on Border Patrol authority to detain and arrest people far from our borders. It is possible that the administration did not want to test this in court.
I’ll stay on the story.
