@dustychipura My partner has tried to register and is pending approval. He would love to do this. Looks like a great program that targets just about everything he struggles with!
@l_marom @Arley_McNeney If you need anything as you finish this important project, let me know! I don't have Arley's depth of knowledge, but I'm happy to support in any way I can! (Also, apologies again for the notifications. I will never late-night read/tweet from my phone again. Disaster)
@l_marom @Arley_McNeney (despite her preference for identity-first) because she was just really committed to creating a world where people could describe who they are and be who they are without stigma. And, that to me is so core to Arley's work, even if she didn't happen to write it down. :)
Thanks to everyone who participated, and to Arley. She couldn't participate, but would often send me little notes on meeting days with thoughts and encouraging words. Thinking of her today.
Just wrapped up the #UDL Community of Practice I've been facilitating through @KPU_TLCommons . With @Arley_McNeney 's beautiful piece https://t.co/yEtP6QNTBu as a guide, we talked about labour, care, pedagogy, and ways to re-imagine our institution. #ThatWasArley
Arley was a tremendous force for justice & inclusivity. She was kind, innovative, thoughtful, and fierce in the best ways possible, always willing to advocate and re-imagine. I'm thinking of her colleagues, students, family, friends, and especially her kiddo. What a loss.
I'm not around here much these days, but it feels like the appropriate venue to acknowledge and celebrate amazing advocate, educator, thinker, writer, parent, friend, and human @Arley_McNeney, who fostered such important community here (and everywhere she went)
Delighted to have a chapter in "Designing for Care," co-written with @fwwalsh and our fabulous Including All Citizens graduates, Emma, Kya, and Anju. I'm very thankful to the wonderful editors, and can't wait to read both collections!
Designing for Care and Toward a Critical Instructional Design. Two new edited collections just released in print, Kindle, and open-access versions. Together, they strive to imagine more humanizing and problem-posing approaches to the design of education. https://t.co/1dN77DeNkc
TODAY at 2:45PM: @vancouverpd constables attacked and violently arrested DTES residents, VANDU and @pivotlegal organizers after a day of peaceful observation of the Hastings Tent City decampment.
@Arley_McNeney Aww, I'm sorry Arley. You're doing the right thing and modelling responsibility and community care for your students, but it is so hard to miss events like this. You and your class are doing amazing things for the community. I wish I was around to take part!
Faculty and students at KPU, please share with your friends/students/colleagues etc. So many folks at KPU don't know Policy exists! We need to get the word out.
.@KPUArts is hiring 2 Indigenous Writers in Residence and 2 Indigenous Artists in Residence for the 2022-2023 academic year! Review of applications begins July 18th.
