I'm so excited to have matched at Brigham and Women's Hospital for Rheumatology fellowship! Beyond grateful for truly phenomenal mentorship, both clinical and research-wise, in residency @mghmedres.
@MaxJordan_N Kcl crystals exist as a salt substitute (brand name NoSalt) that isnโt that bad actually! Havenโt tried the KCl we give to patients for repletion though.
@BethGay45 My #1 reaction to ED is unfailingly โthank goodness there are people who choose this as a careerโ - it is so amazingly challenging, and so necessary. We need to protect and take care of our EM colleagues- they are a precious resource
@MaxJordan_N Not sure what the experience is like at BWH, but at least over here, โemail is a second medical recordโ. Itโs common to send emails to outpt providers of hospitalized pts. I found it strange, but not sure if thereโs a better way. I donโt know why we donโt use inbasket this way.
@MaxJordan_N@RedCross At MGH at least there is a hospital run donor center that (1) takes appointments (2) always runs on time and (3) gives a $5 coffee central gift card!
@MaxJordan_N@YaleIMed Doing residency at a transplant center having done IM *not* on klatskin, early in intern year I frequently found myself asking why everybody seemed to have cirrhosis.
@ChristleNwora Itโs so hard to pay full attention and learn the same way on zoom lectures. (Tangentially, I often feel v privileged that throughout this whole year I still got to come to work in person and see my colleagues, while so many of my friends had to work isolated in home offices ๐ฅบ)
@MaxJordan_N The last time I do a 28 (or a 14+ hour night for that matterโฆ) it will be too soon. It really does wear on a person every time. Iโm sorry, Jordan. The only consolation I have is it can be temporaryโฆ depending on career choice ๐ฌ
@kidney_boy So is CIN real or not?! I feel like clinically we constantly debate getting necessary scans due to renal function but Iโve heard passionate arguments both waysโฆ
