Why don't you put on a little make up?

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

I can't believe Gears of War E-Day cost 100 googolplex. These game studio budgets are out of control.

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

This has to be satire. Right. RIGHT?

[Unreal Engine @UnrealEngine]

Vibe your way to 50K.

[MikeyJayRaymond @MikeyJayRaymond]

The source was wrong.

The STUDIOS budget for ALL GAMES was 400-500m. Any journalist using a leaked number is conflating the entire studios budget with E-Day.

The budget includes the remaster and support of other titles, like Avowed on Unreal Engine.

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@jonny_pixels_ Oh gosh. Well good luck and I bet you will feel so much relief!

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@MikeyJayRaymond Love it

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@briangaar Wait its 3 HOURS LONG?! I may have to reconsider seeing it at the cinema.

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@throck_jonathan Oh gosh, no its one hour there and one back, so still pretty annoying for 14 miles BUT not as bad as LA. Now outside of term time when the schools are off its slightly better than that. I know people do a LOT worse than this but I would prefer not to 😂

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

My commute is only 14 miles and still eats up 2 hours of my day. This is 🤮

Xbox mandates a four-day return to office

“Starting February 1st, 2027, Xbox employees in Puget Sound who live within 50 commuting miles of Studio D are required to work from the office a minimum of four days a week,” says Jacinda Chislum Pearson, Xbox chief people officer, in the internal memo. “We have thousands of Xbox employees within commuting distance of Redmond. Taking advantage of that proximity and working together in person makes it easier to review work, resolve issues, and make decisions without the burden of scheduling another meeting.”

That’s one more day than Microsoft’s current three-day policy, and even existing exemptions will need to be reapplied for.

Xbox is also positioning its updated return to office policy as one that “should be worth the investment” of taking the time to commute into the office, especially for those 40-50 miles away. “Leaders should be present, and coming into the office should not mean spending the same day on Teams calls from a different building,” says Pearson. “Time well spent means reviewing work, solving problems, and playing games together, strengthening our path to becoming one Xbox.”

@epictreasure1 Yeah to be honest sometimes driving to station and parking there, train in, is better, but really depends on the service and how crowded it is.

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@KrevShadow One week on and one off is interesting I've not seen that before. Could be a good balance I guess.

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

(me after) it’s actually an incredible design,

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@MetalSlimeX Yeah some jobs can't be done from home but for those that can be, why not? Its better for the environment too 🤷‍♀️

[Jen⛧ @Jenbox360]

@TodoDiaCadaDia It's not a race to the bottom, I can say commuting sucks cuz for me it does. This is like saying someone shouldn't complain they have a headache because someone else in the world has cancer.
