Step 1 in creating a design system: close Figma (or your design tool of choice).
Think about the problem you feel a design system might address. Do your research on how your org and the teams within work. Map out what you do and don't know Does everyone see this as a problem?
Each time I'm asked to "Whip up a Figma", I'm reminded that we've moved past ideas, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes onto thoughtless mashes of prefab components designed without any intent or context.
This isn't design, it's assembly.
To UX design's credit it's one of the only visual design practices where making a concerted effort to separate the idea of the "client" from the "user." Ideally the client pays, but you must work in the best interest of the user and you try your best to maintain that

Love what @adamstjohn said: “ Of course sprints & co don’t replace full projects. But they can be markedly useful in focusing attention, making noise, finding and connecting the right people, building communities, learning new skills and mindsets, boosting motivation”
At #ngde2022 @Jenica_A_Lewis shares insight about a framework for building a design system 🧑🎨. Diverse talks like this are enriching the conference a lot!
#Klimakrise
