Always great to see our partners showcasing some of their positive work at the @CIOFtweets Convention. Thanks to @DiabetesUK@Mindcharity for reminding us all about the importance of loyalty #CIOFFC
1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem each year. But many of us don’t know where to reach out for support. Or how to share what we’re going through.
This Mental Health Awareness Week, let your friends and family know – if this speaks to you, #SpeakToMind#MHAW
Sarah Haywood of the UK Weddings Taskforce criticises "hypocrisy" of G7 summit leaders attending a BBQ with no social distancing and says a lockdown extension will be "the death knell for a lot of business and it doesn't make any sense."
@JuliaHB1 | @SarahHaywood
60k #wedding businesses running out of road. Tens of thousands of jobs on the line. Yet for the 5th consecutive day we’ve a different, leaked, front page scenario regarding our fate. It’s cruel to businesses, workers and couples (who we’ll have to console when we too are broken).
WE WANT TO WED @BorisJohnson!
✅ Remove the guest number cap
😷 Remove the need for guests to wear face masks
🥂Allow guests to drink and eat whilst standing up (just like you did at the G7)
💃🕺Allow dancing and remove all other restrictions on weddings
#whataboutweddings
Not knowing what decision will be made tomorrow is genuinely pushing my anxiety through the roof. How much more can people’s mental health take before enough is enough @BorisJohnson? All we ask is for unrestricted weddings, really not too much to ask #whataboutweddings
So frustrating to watch. Our couples have postponed their weddings twice if not thrice and then having to see this during the G7 Summit where leaders of the world who are the furthest from each other’s bubbles are mingling like this? #whataboutweddings@WAWofficialUK
Isn't it lovely seeing normality. If this was a wedding it's suddenly illegal. We're emotional and tried of constantly having to ask for parity. Tomorrow we need to hear full restrictions will be lifted at weddings from 21st @BorisJohnson@scullyp@michaelgove#whataboutweddings
12 days until I’m due to marry the love of my life. I should be excited right now but instead I’m filled with dread and constantly anxiety that I’m going to be told to change every bit of my plans (completely last minute) #whataboutweddings
Leaks, fear and paranoia: it is cruel. The emotional, 72 hour roller-coaster for a decimated #weddings sector and anxious, distraught couples:
✅ Thursday @TheTimes exclusive:
Government source reveals: “Unlimited numbers to be allowed at weddings” ..1/3
Weddings cannot just be postponed 2 weeks - venues/suppliers are already booked up to 2023 - do you expect each couple to book a further 2 years away despite many like me having to postpone already from last year?! Don't worry lads, the football is on though 🤦♀️#whataboutweddings
What the lead up of your wedding should be: excitement, nerves, final preparations
What it is for a covid bride: sleepless nights, sickness, anxiety, uncertainty, the inability to plan, tears daily and checking of news reports 24/7
#whataboutweddings
My mental health this year has suffered beyond measure because of the uncertainty. If sporting events can have thousands of people, why can't we have 68 people at our covid secure venue, for our important life event? #whataboutweddings@MattHancock@michaelgove@BorisJohnson
This. On every level and from the Prime Minister down to MPs who block or fail to reply to constituents and everyone who's trotted out the copy and paste response to heartfelt letters with heartbreaking stories, this.
#whataboutweddings
My wedding has been planned since 2018. With over 95% of the invite list vaccinated, and lateral flow tests the morning of, why can't we have a restriction-free wedding? My wedding is 18 days away and I can't even be excited because I don't know firm numbers. #whataboutweddings
Weddings cannot wait – 98% of couples and businesses say that weddings have not been treated the same as other similar industries. We have arbitrary numbers, ridiculous guidance and NO evidence that weddings should be restricted in this way. Fair? No way. #whataboutweddings
Being told ‘I wouldn’t make any plans yet’ by @RobertJenrick pretty much sums up how much this govt understand the wedding sector. Who needs to plan right? What an idiotic comment that shows a fundamental lack of knowledge, care or thought.
#whataboutweddings
Please STOP saying “a few more weeks”. It doesn’t work like that. Pre-covid weddings are booked 2-3 years in advance. Dates are fully booked from 21st June, it is not a case of picking a weekend 3 weeks in advance #whataboutweddings
Weddings cannot wait – couples want the weddings that you promised they could have this summer @borisjohnson. You said ‘save the date’ for 21st June. You need to stick to it.
#whataboutweddings
Waited 4 weeks for guidance so I can finally start properly planning our wedding & THIS is what is produced. Please explain to me how this is acceptable? Why has it taken 4 weeks to essentially say "we have no idea what we're doing and cant provide any info" #whataboutweddings
