Great White comes to say hello at his stall in the @PreaknessStakes Stakes Barn Wednesday morning. He was a late scratch in the Ky Derby after he reared up and fell behind the starting gate. The massive grey, who is 15-1 on the Preakness ML, is a friendly fellow.

I sold Ocelli for 12k, yesterday he ran 3rd in the @KentuckyDerby & won 500k.

And gues what? I'm celebrating.

Because of what this means for everything we still have.

Ocelli's brothers just became a lot more valuable. His mom Zalia is now a queen.

The bloodline we've been building for years just got validated on the biggest stage in racing.

One horse running 3rd at @ChurchillDowns does more for your breeding program than a decade of "he has potential" conversations ever could.

But there's a bigger lesson here.

Everyone passed on Ocelli because he had a "weird gait." Moved different. Didn't fit the template.

Turns out that weird gait was elite. Top 3 in the world elite.

The market constantly undervalues things that don't fit the mold. In horses. In real estate. In people.

The ones who move different aren't always broken.

Sometimes they're just built for something the rest of us can't see yet.

Mine That Bird is my vote for best Derby of all time. He comes from the depths of hell to win, basically teleporting the last 2 furlongs AND we have perfect HD video, unlike older come from behind winners. The commentator’s astonishment is the icing on the cake.

WHITE ABARRIO, the 7yo son of Race Day, earned a 112 Equibase Speed Figure for his brilliant 2 length win over Sovereignty and Journalism in Saturday's G2 Oaklawn Handicap for trainer @SaffieJosephJr with @iradortiz aboard!

White Abarrio covered 1 1/8 miles on the dirt in 1:47.49, just 0.89 seconds off the track record set by Snow Chief in 1987, and notably lengthened his average stride length to 23.75 ft. in the final furlong compared to 22.87 ft. in the penultimate furlong.

The Oaklawn Handicap was White Abarrio's 7th graded stakes victory and 11th career win from 26 total starts.

Purchased for $40K as a 2yo in training at @OBSSales, White Abarrio now has $8,445,170 in career earnings.
