Tonight, I got a call from a family member of a patient I was very close to, telling me she passed away. The husband was so hurt, and crying, but said he wanted to call and tell me himself and said they loved me like their own. I’m so heart broken.

Being a hospice nurse has opened my eyes to so much. I get so attached to my patients and families. Count your blessings, you never know when they will be gone!
