Social Learning Theory (Bandura)

Bandura's social learning theory states that individuals develop who they are through environmental factors, namely the imitation of role models.
@BSMNR2019 "Reframing the world with the mental capacity that the students already possesses." I wonder if this is referring to the special education students and how their capacity to learn may not be the same as a regular education student.
@AndrewLipscomb0 Great find Andrew! The idea of field learning makes me think of technical schools that teach trades and how they allow the students to learn through hands on experiences.
@BSMNR2019 Most of what I have read makes me agree that Constructivism is the goal for all teachers, but a small part of me wonders about the students who lack drive and the initiative to learn and exceed expectations. How will they progress?
"Three kinds of knowledge" is a new idea for me and I found this article on Constructivism in the classroom interesting. #6711SM5

@paigestu Interesting article comparing both views of learning. Although they are different I think they are inseparable; there is no sense in teaching, if no one is listening.
@BSMNR2019 “'Learning becomes as much social as cognitive, as much concrete as abstract, and becomes intertwined with
judgment and exploration,'1 just as it is in an actual workplace." I think this line sums up the whole article nicely, as well as the world of teaching.
Looking forward to presenting at #ISTE19 tomorrow on how Cognitive ToyBox makes assessment better, simpler and actionable for early childhood educators serving children birth to five.
Two interesting popular sources about preventing cognitive decline in the elderly. Maybe videogames are not that bad. #6711SM4

@BSMNR2019 By removing a field trip or something upcoming from a student with inappropriate behavior concerns me. Many times these are the students who need the most exposure to such events.
