Please stop DMing us asking us to "wake up Mount Rainier just a lil" to clear space in the queue for Taylor Swift tickets.
We have a strict standing policy of not taunting the volcanoes.
@RonTaylor79 This is a state, federal, and admin issue. If schools advocated and supported teacher assessing in the way best suited for their students it would happen-but they don’t.
As the new school year begins for many, I thought it might be helpful to share a thread of my favorite online resources for #teachers that are not Google Workspace tools. I don't work for any of these BTW.
@ManningTechTalk Perhaps they think you are referring to a physical tool i.e. tablet, smart board rather than website? I know that’s what I would think and would respond vaguely rather than ask what they mean for fear of looking like an idiot.
Teachers: can we start a thread with interview advice for new(ish) teachers? Interview feedback seems to not be popular with admin but it’s needed if candidates are going to make positive change to secure jobs in your districts.
@educationweek Rigor for 1000000 Alex. Admin likes to use this to mean challenging but in reality they have no concrete metrics for determining if a teacher has met the mark.
Educators, If you really want to impact your students this year and get the best out of them, just make them all feel valued and feel like they BELONG.
@MrShaneGower If I was new to your district, 2 days before start would be a nightmare. New tech, account/room set up, acclimation to school/plc/dept expectations. I like having as much time as possible with my room/team/student list as possible.
@iillini24 I’m a career changer (into education) and have no intention of leaving but I very much appreciate your candor and I hope that if you left education, you have found a field that brings you passion and stability.
