So we a decided we’re gonna fix it ourselves so of course thed city just had to get some kind of money from us - so we had to pay $150 for a permit. To fix the swale. That they wrecked. That belonged to them. But now belongs to me. Because it’s not working properly. 😑
@CityPortStLucie Okay so a few years back the city decided they wanted to “fix” all the swales on our street, right?
So they knocked on the door and told me mine was next and I was like “it works fine but sure whatever just don’t cut my trees down.” 1/3
They said “yeah you gotta fix YOUR swale because it impedes water flow. We’ll give you an interest free loan if you want us to do it for you”.
Ummm what?! Pay you to fix something you effed up in the first place?! No.
uphill and doesn’t get sucked up by the roots so now it sits in the “fixed” swale (that was never broken in the first place) until it evaporates.
Fast forward to this week - we get a code violation for standing water and we call about it.
The dude said well the swale belongs to the city so we can cut the trees if we want but I’ll try not to cut them. I’m like “🙄 okay cool.”
Months later they send the people to “fix” the swale - but they took too much dirt and tree roots away so then the rain water can’t travel
