@PolitiBunny I dont know what city or bigger town is 100% nice. So yes, it has a couple of sketchy areas
But the vast majority is really nice!
I usually like your posts. But I gotta say, this feels like either you just want engagement, or that its a personal thing you're pissy about
@PolitiBunny Its not perfect. But the Richmond area & surrounding smaller districts have at least doubled in size in the 6 years I've lived here. We get all the runoffs from DC & NYC, that want a cheaper place to live. So our market was booming years before covid, & still going strong !
@PolitiBunny Okay, I have to say this is a pretty big stretch
I've lived in or around Richmond for just over 6 years. Downtown only has a couple of spots that look like the pics you sent. And those spots looked like that when I moved here.
Everywhere else is fairly nice, & growing like crazy
@PolitiBunny We had an entrance to I95 a couple blocks from our appt. That was one of two places I would see homeless people.
The other was under a bridge near Shockoe Bottom (i believe one of the pics she posted)
The "sketchy" areas aren't downtown (i.e. east highland park, Sandston)
@PolitiBunny We originally moved to Manchester (a converted warehouse districts), just south of the river. I worked downtown. Used to walk to nearby places for lunch, happy hour, and doc appts. Dont remember ever feeling unsafe.
We actually chose that area cuz of how many cops we saw around.
@fwmarqix Your reaction was 1000% valid and reasonable
This is like you waving a plugged in hair dryer over the tub while she's in it.
She was embarrassed, as she should be. But not by your reaction.
She should be embarrassed by her own actions.
Hopefully she learns and comes around!
@SedrickW86983@MichelleMaxwell If a white kid was in another team's tent area. Was asked to leave it. And then pulled out a knife.
No, we would still be saying the kid who brought a knife to school was the issue
Race doesnt change what he did.
So why dont you focus on their actions, instead of their skin color
@regularhuman0@SamaHoole When grass dempoposes in a landfill, it also produces methane gas.
So are we not allowed to mow our yards and bag the clippings now?
Also, methane gas is made of carbon, retard
@Tzor@HansMahncke You are 100% correct!
Separate from the Fairfax takeover. This also pushes huge influence from Richmond into small rural areas over 150 miles away. How is that accurate representation?
So very happy this was shut down!!
For all the Democrats out there that stood outside and protested at no kings rallies. Here’s something for you to think about.
Today the Democrat general assembly just exempted themselves from gun laws that they are imposing on citizens. That is as tyrannical as it gets and absolutely something that a king does.
Since you probably all still have your signs, I would love to form a rally to stand on the street corner with you to protest this before I go I will stop by Burger King and grab a crown and we can protest together against something that is clearly and us versus them
Let me know when you’re ready.
BREAKING: The man with 30 prior arrests who stabbed 41-year-old Stephanie Minter to death at a Fairfax, VA bus stop earlier this week is an illegal alien from Sierra Leone, who entered the U.S. illegally in 2012 and has a final order of removal dating back to 2020.
Gov. Abigail Spanberger, on her first day in office, ended Virginia's cooperation with ICE, and later cancelled all state law enforcement's 287(g) programs with the federal government that allow them to work with ICE to detain illegal aliens.
Somehow this guy with 30 prior arrests for many violent crimes and in the country illegally for nearly 15 years was able to roam the streets in Virginia.
And an innocent woman is now dead.
GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF OUR VIRGINIA CONSTITUTION!!
On April 21st (early voting starts Mar 6) Virginians will be faced with voting to amend the Virginia constitution...AGAIN....supposedly to "restore fairness" by taking redistricting out of the hands of a non-partisan body and instead giving it back to politicians. As if politicians have ever "restored fairness" to anything! It is important to vote NO on this amendment.
Why?
1. They are ignoring our demands! In 2020, Virginia voters overwhelmingly (70%) approved a NON-PARTISAN redistricting body. But, partisan politicians want it back to the old days. They don't care what Virginians wanted!
2. Virginia has historically been a politically diverse state, where America was born. But politicians simply can't stand that. They want to take us to one-party rule, like North Korea or Iran. Today one flavor of politician wins, tomorrow another. While regular citizens LOSE.
3. It's not "temporary": The amendment is based on a LIE. The new redistricting process would be PERMANENT. They will not "temporarily adopt new congressional districts." The districts will be set, and future politicians will NOT turn it back over to a non-partisan body. What politician ever willingly surrendered power?
Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your neighbors. It's not left versus right, it's regular citizens versus politicians! Let's stop them from treating the Commonwealth as a political battleground.
Vote NO on April 21st!
Virginia, we have a problem — and it's going to take all of us to fix it.
In 2020, nearly 2.4 million of us voted to end partisan gerrymandering in Virginia. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents came together to say: our districts should represent our communities, not political parties.
Now, that historic reform is under attack.
Out-of-state PACs are dumping millions into a scheme to ram through a constitutional amendment that would redraw Virginia's congressional map into a partisan "10-1" gerrymander — splitting communities apart to guarantee one-party rule. And they're doing it through a special election on April 21, a date deliberately chosen so most Virginians won't even know it's happening.
That's why we launched NO GERRYMANDERING VIRGINIA — a bipartisan coalition that includes former Governor George Allen, former Speaker William Howell, former State Senator Chap Petersen, former Delegate William Fralin, and redistricting advocate Brian Cannon.
We don't agree on everything. But we agree on this: voters should choose their representatives — not the other way around.
This isn't a Republican issue or a Democratic issue. It's a Virginia issue.

It was announced yesterday that over 3,300 missing children were found during Operation Metro Surge.
So, my question is for those “feminists” who called other women “Nazis” for supporting this operation: do you understand now? Do you understand why I told you that ICE isn’t just about immigration enforcement, they are the largest agency that investigates human trafficking in the US? Do you understand that some of us knew or suspected that they were looking for more than illegals and that your interference could have cost trafficking victims their freedom or their lives?
Do you understand that in order to fight for women’s rights and child safeguarding, you necessarily have to support law enforcement AND WANT the bad guys gone or locked up?
Because you can bump your gums all you want about how much you care about women and children, but all I hear when you oppose law enforcement is ‘I want domestic stranglers to keep strangling and rapists to keep raping and human traffickers to keep trafficking”.
Your month long tantrum did nothing but show your true colors and get 2 people killed. And that is on those who threw the tantrum. Not law enforcement.
Next time you feel the urge to hop on a bandwagon and parrot talking points please investigate the bandwagon and make sure the talking points are even true.
Goddamn fools.
Virginia, we have a problem — and it's going to take all of us to fix it.
