This is my Uncle's store - Genesis - which has been around longer than I've been alive and has been a fixture on St. Clair Ave in Toronto for decades - I hope that @Hyundai does the right thing.
@amandamull That old bottle of 80s Coppertone brings me back. I think it was like 8 spf. Then we had this giant bottle of No-Ad brand for perhaps all of the 90s 😆
@amandamull One time I just randomly happened to walk by my 3 year old's school as they were about to embark on a walk together with the strap and seeing your own child in the pack is a whole other level! Made my day/week/month/year even though he pretended to now recognize me 😆
TEACHERS hi it’s Hal
DM me your virtual link and a time Tuesday or Wednesday that you have a remote class & I will jump on and give you and the kids a Bodybreak!

In the winter of 1893-94, there was a smallpox outbreak in Brooklyn. While that was a long time ago — Brooklyn wouldn’t officially become part of NYC for another 4 years — many of the strategies used to fight the outbreak look familiar to us today. 🧵
@not_lemming@JillChesler11@MollyJongFast Tried to make it to Toronto today, we drove 400 miles from NYC -> Buffalo, and never got the Covid test results back within the required 72 hour window. We took back up tests but don't have those either so alas, we drove the 400 miles back to NYC so my kids could be home.
@GovKathyHochul Testing is great but the labs can't keep up with processing. Pushing 80 hours waiting for a result for my son. And doubt we'll get it now on Christmas.
@JoannaInNY_MPH You can try a walk in at Citi Field. My son had his second shot at Citi Field last weekend and there were plenty of walk ins! I believe they are even open 24 hours.
@yoda Going through a raccoon eviction myself right now, it's not easy to find someone not sketchy and doesn't cost a fortune! First night ours took the food in the trap and did not get trapped 😑
@JenSeniorNY This is a brilliant piece - I've been lucky to not have to deal with deep grief in my life, but somehow as a mom of two young boys, Helen's story, and the piece in general, really touched me in a way I didn't expect and taught me a lot about grief. Thank you.
@fmanjoo@nytopinion Great piece. Pre-pandemic, I took the bus quite frequently in Queens. Pre-pandemic, they were planning a redesign of the bus system in Queens, when all we really need is more bus lanes and more service. I hope they read this.
