@DrP_Principal That young student had experienced the trauma of losing his Mom. His actions were communicating that he was hurting and he didn’t feel loved. You gave him that! All educators should have trauma training to understand that a students dyregulation is not about them.

Such an important reminder as we dive into another school year. It can be frustrating and overwhelming when a #behaviour presents early while everyone is trying to get settled in to a new year/class, but this is a good reminder to shift our focus to what we don’t see♥️ #ocsb
