@SAAupdates I think I'd rather miss my own seminar than the NextGenPlen any given year--the new scholarship is always insightful, intriguing, and challenging. It gives me more inspiration than anything else!
Am I the only one who instinctively thinks "Oh, cool!" when you see an ad for a print dress, only to be disappointed when you see the image and realize that they don't mean that it's covered with words? (I don't know why my brain does this--I DO know about print fabric....)
@rossbiology I'm so excited--I get fresh rhubarb in my CSA box today! I don't know that I'm happy with my rhubarb crisp recipe, though. Mind sharing yours?
@bjirish Follow-up: today was the day we read your "Envy in EM England" article, and a student could barely wait until the end of class before coming up to tell me how much she loved the article and how she's going to use some material from it in her next essay.
@rossbiology@DamonLisch Whoops--I guess I inadvertently looped around to the original post you were replying to. (It all comes back to writing classes? :-) )
@rossbiology@DamonLisch When talking about writing with students, I often hear them say that the purpose of evidence is to *prove* their thesis, but I try to convince them that the purpose is to *support* their thesis. (If you're able to prove it, it's a question of fact and thus can't be a thesis.)
@LauraPiggott12 I'm not in art or in publishing--just a random person whose feed your tweet happened to pop up in--but for what it's worth, this image stopped me in my tracks, so I hope you are able to stick with it until things start coming together for you!
