𝐇𝐄𝐆𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐎 𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐍: "𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐋𝐎𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐃." 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐒: "𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐒."

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stood at the Pentagon podium this morning flanked by Chairman Caine and CENTCOM commander Admiral Bradley Cooper. He delivered two speeches in one. The first was a warning to Tehran. The second was one of the most devastating rebukes of the American press I have ever watched a sitting Cabinet official deliver.

Start with Iran.

Hegseth addressed the IRGC and the regime directly: "𝘞𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰."

He laid out the scorecard with brutal clarity. Iran is 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝-𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, with 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, no ability to replenish offensive or defensive systems, and "𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦." America is doing the opposite.

Then the punchline to the regime:

The blockade math alone is staggering.

Read that again. 𝟏𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲. 𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐬.

Chairman Caine walked through the details. 𝟏𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎+ 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧. A dozen ships. Dozens of aircraft. 𝟏𝟑 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝟏𝟑 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝. 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝. Every single Iranian shipmaster looked at the destroyers, the F-18s off the Lincoln, the tankers overhead, and made the wise decision.

Meanwhile, Admiral Cooper just returned from his second Middle East trip in 15 days. 𝟓𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 across 𝟕𝟎 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 spanning a distance equivalent to Florida to Arizona. Fighter pilots who took out Iranian missile launchers in the moments before launch. Strikes on Tehran and Iranian military targets 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟏𝟑,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬.

And then the moment that tells you everything about the asymmetry:

Iran built the drones. America gutted them, stamped them, and sent them home.

Four best air forces in the world according to Cooper: the 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐢 𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞, the U.S. Air Force, the Navy, and the Marines. "𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘯𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘴𝘳𝘢𝘦𝘭." Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Jordan stood shoulder to shoulder. The largest air defense umbrella in the world, built across the entire Middle East.

And back home?

The Air Force and Space Force 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐅𝐘𝟐𝟔 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲. The Marines and Army are about to do the same. Two years ago the services couldn't hit 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 numbers. Now they're blowing through higher ones.

Which brings us to the Pharisees.

Hegseth told the press corps he had been at church with his family on Sunday. The minister preached from Mark 3 — Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath while the Pharisees watch, not to marvel, but "𝘴𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮."

Then Hegseth looked the Pentagon press corps dead in the eye:

He reminded them that the same press corps "𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴" to rebrand the Afghanistan collapse as "𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺." That the same press corps today is ignoring historic battlefield success, the blockade, the recruiting surge, the rescue missions that he called "𝘮𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴."

"𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘨𝘯."

That is the most precise diagnosis of the American legacy media I have heard from a Cabinet secretary in my lifetime. 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐠𝐧. That is the entire business model.

Iran is digging out of rubble with no arsenal, no navy, no path to a nuclear weapon. Thirteen ships turned around without a shot. Fifty thousand Americans defended an entire region. Iranian drones were flipped and fired back. Recruiting is exploding.

And the press? The press is still hunting for a withered hand so they can accuse the healer.

- He found that we gave $4.5 million of taxpayer money to combat misinformation in Kazakhstan

- $8.3 million for equity and inclusion education in Nepal
