@TolentinoTeach Agreed 💯, but I see the term stamina and grit being interchangeably used and that’s an issue. They have no stamina. At all. Learning to learn is fading away.
@sage_stage@HenryWilliams74 Do not notify parents of numbers. You are breaking the law by doing so and can easily be fired. However, you should contact a union rep to share the situation and put, in writing, an email to admin that this situation is not legal.
2002: Student finishes work 8 minutes before class ends. Turns in paper, grabs their book and reads
2025: Student finishes work. Asks what to do with it (has been the same place for 28 weeks) and then wanders around the room, ignoring the list of things to do on the board (has not changed in 28 weeks), then sits down and stares at a wall. Asks to go to the bathroom. Argues when you say no because the bell is about to ring.
General reminder that before you can say “teachers get 3 months off” you need to sub in 1st grade and 6th grade for at least a week.
Sorry, I don’t make the rules.
@educator4ever36 Cost. Plain and simple. In order to ensure this, teachers would need to be trained, ratio of S to T would need to be significantly decreased, and intensive reading work would need to take up much more time than is currently allocated for intervention. All $ issues.
@STLCityTalk I lived in the city from 2006-2022. Loved it. But as a teacher, I took my kids to my district for schooling. And when we started to outgrow our first home, we moved where the action was. Miss the city, but go often for so much.
.@PeteButtigieg: "If your party has been systematically against unions, against a higher minimum wage, against paid family leave, against overtime, then just because you found Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock and put them on a stage doesn't make you a friend of the working man."
@Harvatin We don’t have multiple offices in multiple cities. We don’t have the luxury of working remote. The least we can expect is that our administrators are within the same district boundaries that we are on any given work day.
