Great news for a great many people. Unfortunately, we got notice last month ours is going up 13% effective January 1st.
Since I moved in 7yrs ago, the total increases add up to 30% from starting rent amount. My income certainly hasn’t gone up at the same rate.

New Brunswick renters need access to affordable housing. That’s why, as of February 1, 2025, rent increases will be capped at 3% annually.

This measure will help protect renters from rapidly increasing housing costs and eliminate surprise rent hikes. More details will be available later this week.

With help from our partners, we will continue to address every piece that is putting pressure on housing across our province so that everyone has access to a safe and affordable place to call home.

A measles outbreak has been declared in my prov. Specifically the area my still too young to be vaccinated niece lives & attends daycare. If some asshat who chose to not vaccinate their kids b/c “they did their own research” is responsible for her getting sick, I WILL rampage.
