@AlayeDoreen@conallen I think fat ppl are absolutely as deserving of medical treatment they need. Their needs should not be trivialized. At the same time many of them take issue with the term obese and the categorization of their weight as a disease and we need to acknowledge that as well ❤️
@AlayeDoreen@conallen Totally and the truth is that if it were really only people who were appropriately prescribed medical weight loss taking it, there would be no shortage and I wouldn't care. We all know that the biggest issue is it's being used as a diet drug by ppl who should not be using it.
@AlayeDoreen@conallen Yes it does because I maintain that Ozempic is a drug designed to regulate the blood sugar of diabetics, it's not intended to be a weight loss drug and priority should be given to diabetic patients.
@AlayeDoreen@conallen Many fat people have bad health outcomes because they have avoided healthcare systems that spend less time with them on average and treat them as hostile patients simply for the size of their bodies.
@AlayeDoreen@conallen But 'obsese' ppl are not necessarily unhealthy - that's a perpetuated misconception that science doesn't support. And losing weight doesn't make everyone healthier. The drug is for the diabetic condition, not fatness. Fat ppl need less biased medical care, not a weight loss drug.
@AlayeDoreen@conallen Why shouldn't they have access to the best drugs for their actual disease so that people who are obsessed with vanity and brainwashed by beauty standards can fit into skinnier jeans?
@AlayeDoreen@conallen Also no one is insisting fat ppl make lifestyle changes. Although most of the ppl taking ozempic are not fat ppl, they're straight sized ppl who want to be skinnier b/c of diet culture. What we need is less stigmatization of fat ppl and less praise of weight loss.
@CarnivoreTO @TaherLeem @MelissaLantsman Jewish and Muslim resistors can't protest together now? Did you also catch the speeches by several Rabbis or do you just have selective hearing?
@MelissaLantsman It means civil uprising - it's a form of resistance. They are chanting for resistance to a third party real estate company selling illegal stolen land. They should be able to get away with selling illegal land, b/c they do it in a synagogue? 🙄
Don't be fooled by this utter nonsense. No one is targeting a place of worship - they're protesting an event selling land on illegal settlements (during a genocide). Many Jewish community members, including prominent Rabbis are attending the protest.
@StevenDelDuca@MelissaLantsman@GilaMartow@laurasthornhill This has nothing to do with a place of worship it has to do with an event selling land on illegal settlements. Rabbis are attending the protest to voice their own objections. Are these members of the Jewish community - literally holy leaders - intimidating other jewish people?
@StevenDelDuca@MelissaLantsman@GilaMartow@laurasthornhill When the place of worship rents out their space to a third party company selling land in illegal settlements - that have displaced and ethnically cleansed a population currently experiencing genocide, a peaceful protest is more than justified. Who is being intimidated here?
@DonovanCleckley@CaolanRob@jk_rowling Have none of you ever heard accents before? He clearly says 'them' in his accent which comes out sounding kind of like 'em', but it's quite obvious it's not him
@katie_mcenaney@inkyelbows@michaelianblack No lol but I would be waaaay out on that one because I hate bananas so much I won't even touch them (yes I'm that weird) Only Dad serves bananas around here haha
My kids' fav activity is running around naked in the upstairs hall. Last night my 4 yr old demanded a snack then resumed his run yelling, "Eating a cookie totally and completely Naked!" Love when he quotes literature while wilding out! @inkyelbows@michaelianblack
