* 2 weeks ago, I just found out 😔
I was sort of curious to see if Hendrix is still a practicing lawyer.
She'll be in court on 07/09.....
After all of that shit she was engaging in, she is going to provide criminal defense for someone.
That's wild.
It wasn't that hard to find, by the way, in case she reads this and blows a gasket. I took your license number and searched the docket of your nearest court based on the address on your Bar profile.
@datadriven_tdoc Seriously all you do is blame us activists and hold us in contempt.
Since you're so confident you can get us better results, step up to the plate.
@aqueerius_91@legaltweetz@LegalRevolution Oh my god, I just did some searching. She is representing some guy who is charged with domestic violence in court on 07/09....
After all the shit she's been doing lately, she is going to go defend someone. Crazy.
I dont really know you outside of what Ive observed. You always seemed cool to me. But I get it though. Im coming up on 16 years in and I dont relate to many and I feel left out too. But hey just know that youre not alone, im always available if you want to DM. I hope you feel better soon.
@tinybird420 I made it like halfway through the episode and I'm just glad I dont think that deeply about my sexuality. Almost gave me an anxiety attack.
@stefisgirlnow I'm like halfway through the episode right now and I feel like my brain is fried. Maybe I'm not the target audience, but as a bisexual myself, I don't think about any of this shit. That's not taking into account many of the problematic things they say. Boring.
@Hontas_Farmer I just asked ChatGPT about it. It saids these laws mostly stayed alive until the 1970's when the courts largely struck them down, however it does suggest there may be cities that have their own statutes, but no states have them today.
@Hontas_Farmer Honestly, you'd be shocked to know that most of the crossdressing laws from the 1800's, are actually still in law. They just stopped enforcing them. I wonder if I can find out for sure, Ill research it.
OMG, this story sums up the toxicity that is the UK political environment 🇬🇧🏴
Yeah, no shit you lost your election. You voted against a same-sex marriage proposal in 2023.
Hell, my midwestern 'purple' state in the US passed that in 2013.
"Forbes has been a polarising figure in Scottish politics, and her senior roles have repeatedly prompted debate about the SNP’s “big tent” approach to social issues, including after she was appointed as Scotland’s deputy first minister and when she backed Graham Linehan over a cancelled Edinburgh gig."
Oh yeah, and you cozied up to a massive sex pest and pervert in Glinner.
Christ, how the hell did you get into politics with such bad political instincts?

@burnthelilacs Whipping Girl is like a transition Bible for me. It was also the only major transfeminist text I could get when I was in my women's studies program. Written in 2007, still holds up today.
I think it's crazy that you think you're being silenced as a "Gender-Critical."
You literally write for one of the UK's largest news media outlets and they publish everything you say.
You're not being silenced at all.
Stop thinking you're the victim; you're not.
Wake the fuck up.
I've just spent some time trying to compile a list of famous women who have publicly expressed gender-critical views.
Actresses. Musicians. TV personalities. Sportswomen. Authors. Household names.
And honestly, I struggled.
It's much easier to think of men.
Which strikes me as odd, because the vast majority of people believe that it is not possible to change sex.
And most ordinary women I speak to privately are genuinely shocked by cases such as the Darlington nurses - where female nurses were required to share a changing room with a male colleague who identified as a woman, and were then told that they were the problem for objecting.
So why the silence?
I can only conclude that women, much more so than men, are afraid to say what they really think.
They've watched women such as Sharron Davies and Róisín Murphy speak out about biological sex and then talk openly about professional opportunities disappearing, along with income.
They've seen the years of abuse directed at JK Rowling, regardless of her wealth or status.
That's not to say that men who speak publicly about these issues don't receive abuse. They do.
But the abuse directed at women often feels qualitatively different. Women who speak about biological sex and sex-based rights are routinely subjected not just to insults, but to rape threats, death threats and explicitly degrading, sexualised abuse designed to humiliate and dehumanise them.
However the part I find most concerning is this:
Whatever your views on the trans issue itself, how can anyone look at the way women have been treated - simply for expressing an opinion about their own rights, bodies and sports - and not conclude that something has gone badly wrong?
Perhaps many people do think that.
Perhaps they're simply too afraid to say that too.
But I think it was Sall Grover who said that if all the women who've stayed silent spoke up at once, that would be it.
That's all it would take to reveal how small the number of true believers really is.
And yet, still, so many remain silent.
That fear tells us everything.
I appreciate your kindness in this conversation.
If you don't mind, I have a few concerns, not just as a trans woman but as a political scientist in communications and as a feminist scholar.
Report the facts. Please avoid using sensationalist language when speaking about a trans woman. Remember to fact-check your sources.
Some people are negatively impacted by the rhetorical framing that you choose.
Just my suggestion as a reader. Anyway, I appreciate the conversation.
@jan_murray@nickwallis Appreciate your response.
Do you ever entertain discussing with those you're writing about? Sometimes I find meeting in the middle can help both sides.
And the abuse you face for your journalism isn't appropriate and I hope it stops.
I'm starting to think that if this America thing doesn't work out maybe I could go to my ancestral homeland.
Lyon, France would be pretty neat🇫🇷☺️
I don't know much about the area but that's where my family is from.
I've long wanted to visit France, Brittany specifically. I lived with a woman for 6 years who was born there and she helped me improve my French and taught me a bit of Breton, too.
I've always wanted to live in France 🇫🇷
